General header options
MyListing’s default header combines your logo, navigation, search, account controls, cart, messages, and call-to-action button. You can configure the site-wide header and override its appearance on individual Elementor pages.
Configure the global header
Section titled “Configure the global header”Go to Theme Tools → Theme Options → Header. These settings apply throughout the site unless a page or single-listing setting overrides them.
The Header tab controls:
- Header Height — choose the normal or extended layout.
- Header Text Color, Header Background Color, and Header Border Color — set the default color scheme. The background color supports transparency.
- Header Width — use a full-width header or select Boxed and set its width in pixels.
- Sticky header on scroll? — keep the header available when visitors scroll back up.
- Main Menu Location — align the primary navigation to the left, center, or right.
- Mobile menu position — place the mobile menu trigger and panel on the left or right.
- Logo Height — set independent desktop, tablet, and mobile heights.
- Show Search Form? — enable quick search and configure its placeholder, featured terms, and listing types.
- Show Call to Action Button — choose its destination page and label.
- Show cart — display the WooCommerce cart control.
- Enable breadcrumbs? — display MyListing’s title bar where supported.
When the sticky header is enabled, the On scroll fields let you use a separate logo, text color, background color, and border color after the page has been scrolled.
Header components
Section titled “Header components”Site logo
Section titled “Site logo”Set the default logo under Theme Tools → Theme Options → General → Site Logo. You can set a separate On scroll logo in the Header tab. If no logo is selected, the header displays the site name instead.
Quick search
Section titled “Quick search”Enable Show Search Form? to add MyListing’s quick search to the header. It displays matching content as the visitor types.
- Search Form Placeholder changes the input text.
- Search Form Featured Terms controls the taxonomy terms shown when the field first receives focus. Categories, regions, tags, and other listing taxonomies can be mixed and reordered.
- Listing types limits quick-search results to selected listing types. Leave it empty to include all types.
Main navigation
Section titled “Main navigation”The header renders the menu assigned to the Primary Menu location. Create and assign it under Appearance → Menus. See Create the main menu for the full setup.
User area
Section titled “User area”Logged-out visitors see sign-in and, when WooCommerce account registration is enabled, registration links. Logged-in users see their avatar, display name, and account menu.
You can customize that menu under Appearance → Menus by assigning a menu to Woocommerce Menu. If no custom menu is assigned, MyListing uses the available WooCommerce account endpoints automatically. See Create the user menu.
Cart and messages
Section titled “Cart and messages”The cart control is governed by Show cart in the Header tab. It opens MyListing’s cart panel without sending the visitor to a separate page.
The messages control appears for logged-in users when Enable Direct Messages is active under Theme Tools → Direct Messages.
Call-to-action button
Section titled “Call-to-action button”Enable Show Call to Action Button, select the page it should open, and enter the button label. All three values are required for the button to appear. The label accepts MyListing shortcodes, so an icon generated under Theme Tools → Shortcodes → Icon can be placed before or after the text.
For a logged-in user, MyListing hides this button when the user’s role is not allowed to submit listings. This applies even when the button links to a page unrelated to listing submission.
Override the header on one page
Section titled “Override the header on one page”Open the page with Elementor, open Page Settings, and expand Header. From there you can:
- hide the header;
- blend it into the next section;
- show or hide the title bar;
- enable Customize Header? and override its height, width, text and background colors, sticky behavior, search form, menu position, and call-to-action button.
These controls affect only MyListing’s built-in header on that page. Leave Customize Header? disabled to inherit the global settings.
Single listing pages use a separate set of defaults under Theme Tools → Theme Options → Single Listing, including the header preset, colors, width, sticky behavior, and whether it blends with the cover section. The theme also applies these header settings to BuddyPress profile pages and pages that use MyListing’s Content + Full Width Featured Image template.
