Installing the theme

Once you have the installable MyListing ZIP file, you can upload it directly from your WordPress dashboard. FTP is available as a fallback if your host blocks larger uploads.

  1. Sign in to your WordPress admin area.
  2. Go to Appearance → Themes and select Add New Theme.
  3. Select Upload Theme, then choose the installable MyListing .zip file.
  4. Select Install Now. When the installation finishes, select Activate.

Install through FTP or your host’s file manager

Section titled “Install through FTP or your host’s file manager”

Use this method if the dashboard upload fails or your host limits ZIP uploads.

  1. Extract the installable MyListing ZIP file on your computer.
  2. Connect to your server with an FTP client, or open your host’s file manager.
  3. Open your WordPress installation and go to wp-content/themes/.
  4. Upload the extracted my-listing folder—not the ZIP file—to this directory.
  5. In WordPress, go to Appearance → Themes and activate MyListing.

After activating MyListing, WordPress will display a notice for its required and recommended plugins. Elementor and WooCommerce are required; Contact Form 7 is recommended but optional. Select Begin installing plugins, install Elementor and WooCommerce, then activate them. Install Contact Form 7 if you plan to use it for contact forms.

Do not leave this step half-finished. Parts of the theme will be unavailable until the required plugins are active.

You uploaded the full ThemeForest package instead of the installable theme. Return to your ThemeForest downloads and choose Installable WordPress file only.

Your host’s PHP upload limit is smaller than the theme ZIP. Ask your host to raise the limit, adjust it from your hosting panel if available, or use the FTP method above.

The installation fails or the site shows a PHP error

Confirm that the server is running PHP 7.4 or newer. If it is, copy the exact error message and contact your host or the MyListing helpdesk.
