Duplicate a listing type

MyListing does not provide a one-click duplicate command for listing types. Its Config panel can export the complete editor configuration as JSON and import it into another type.

  1. Go to Listing Types, edit the source type, and save any pending changes.
  2. In the Config panel in the editor sidebar, select Export config file.
  3. Go to Listing Types → Add New, enter the new type’s singular and plural names, and publish it so it has its own permanent slug and saved configuration.
  4. Open the new type’s Config panel and select Import config file.
  5. Choose the exported .config.json file and confirm the import.
  6. Review the imported configuration, make the new type’s required changes, and select Update.

The import replaces the destination type’s fields, general settings, Single Page layout, Preview Card, and Search Forms configuration. It does not duplicate listings, taxonomy terms, WordPress pages, WooCommerce products, or uploaded media.

Changing the copied type’s field or filter configuration can require its search index to be rebuilt. Follow any reindex notice shown by MyListing after saving.
