General listing type settings
The General tab defines the identity and site-wide behavior of a listing type. Its subtabs are General, Packages, Claim Form, Reviews, Expiry rules, Schema, and Other.
The Claim Form subtab appears only when Enable Claim Listings is active under Listings → Settings.
General
Section titled “General”Set the icon type, icon or image, singular name, plural name, and Permalink value. The permalink value is used when Settings → Permalinks → Listing Base contains %listing_type%.
The editor sidebar also contains Listing Type Defaults. The default logo is used when a listing has no logo, and leaving it empty hides the logo when no listing image exists. The default cover behaves the same way for the cover image. Default Map Marker is used when the listing logo is not present. If it is also empty, MyListing can reuse the default logo before falling back to its bundled marker image.
Packages
Section titled “Packages”Enable paid listing packages for this type and drag the WooCommerce listing-package products into the active list. Each package can have a type-specific label, description, order, and Featured? badge. Paid listings must also be enabled globally under Listings → Settings.
New types have Enable paid listing packages on but no active products. Until a Listing Package or Listing Subscription product is added, there is no paid plan to select for that type.
Claim Form
Section titled “Claim Form”Build the extra form shown when a visitor claims a listing. Text, textarea, number, and file claim fields are available. The claim system must be enabled globally before this subtab and the Claim Listing quick action become useful.
Reviews
Section titled “Reviews”Configure Gallery upload, Star ratings, Stars mode, author reviews, compare-modal ratings, and custom rating categories. Full stars permits whole values from 1 to 5; Half stars also permits half-star values. Allow users to submit multiple comments? is available only when star ratings are disabled.
New types default to star ratings with Half stars and author reviews enabled. Review galleries and compare-modal ratings are off by default.
Expiry rules
Section titled “Expiry rules”Every type has the rule Expires when the expiry date is reached. Additional rules can expire a listing when a Date field is reached or, for a Recurring Date field, when its final occurrence ends. A recurring field that allows recurrence uses its repeat end date; otherwise it uses the last occurrence. Package duration can set the normal expiry date for paid listings, so the first applicable expiry condition can end the listing.
Schema
Section titled “Schema”Edit the structured-data object used on this type’s listing pages. The editor supports bracket syntax such as [[field-key]] to insert listing values. Keep the output valid for the schema type you choose and test a published listing with a structured-data validator.
- Disable slug update prevents the listing slug from being regenerated after title changes.
- Global listing type turns the type into a combined search configuration rather than a submission type.
- The global type’s Advanced settings can limit results to selected listing types and can include WordPress posts.
