Create a global listing type

A global listing type is a search-only configuration that can return results from multiple listing types. Use it in Explore, Listing Feed, quick search, and supported map contexts—not as a type users submit.

  1. Go to Listing Types → Add New, name the type something such as “All listings,” and publish it.
  2. Open General → Other and enable Global listing type.
  3. Optionally enable Advanced settings and select the listing types to include. You can also include WordPress posts.
  4. Configure the global Search Forms, Listing Order, and Explore Tabs, then update the type.
  5. Edit the Explore page with Elementor and add the global type to the MyListing Explore widget, normally as the first type.

Without Advanced settings, the global type searches all non-global listing types; it does not include WordPress posts. With Advanced settings, its membership is explicitly limited to the selected listing types and can optionally include posts.

Global types do not expose a dedicated Search Index subtab or table. When the combined index path is available, Explore, Listing Feed, and quick search build a union from the source indexes. Only member types with a usable index table participate, so create or rebuild the Search Index for every included type. Query paths that cannot use the combined index fall back to legacy processing.
