Preselect Explore filters

The Explore widget can load with a saved set of filters. This is useful for focused landing pages such as restaurants in one region with a particular service selected.

  1. Make sure the required filters are configured under Listing Types → Edit Listing Type → Search Forms → Advanced Form.
  2. Edit the landing page with Elementor and add or configure MyListing → Explore Listings.
  3. View the page on the front end, choose the listing type and filters you want, and let the results refresh.
  4. Copy the complete generated URL from the browser address bar, including its query string.
  5. Return to Elementor, open the Explore Listings widget, and paste the URL into Default filter values.
  6. Update the page and test it in a private browser window.

The URL normally contains type for the listing-type slug and keys for the active filters. Taxonomy dropdowns and checkboxes use term slugs; multiple values are comma-separated. Other filters use the field key selected as their data source. The widget reads the pasted URL’s query string, not its host or path. MyListing validates supplied terms and choices against the active listing type before applying them.

The widget also has a First load method setting. Server-side (SEO friendly) is the default and renders the initial filtered results on the server; Client-side (AJAX only) fetches them after the page loads. Default filter values are applied in either mode.

Values supplied in the page’s own URL take precedence over the widget’s defaults. Visitors can therefore open the landing page with a different valid filter value without editing the Elementor configuration.

See Create the Explore page and Configure search forms for the surrounding setup.
