Add dynamic shortcodes to listings
The Shortcode content block can insert listing values into shortcode or embed markup. It is useful when a plugin needs a different account, calendar, feed, or resource ID for each listing.
Assume a plugin provides [myshortcode_listing id="xx"].
- In Fields, create a Text field for the external ID. Give it a stable key such as
shortcode-id. - In Single Page → Content & Tabs, open Profile or a custom tab and add the Shortcode block.
- Enter
[myshortcode_listing id="[[shortcode-id]]"]. You can type@and select the field instead of entering its key manually. - Save the type, edit a listing, and enter its external ID in the new field.
- View the listing and confirm the third-party shortcode returns the expected content.
The same pattern works for embed URLs, booking calendars, social feeds, videos, and similar integrations. The block also exposes listing special values through the @ picker. MyListing escapes inserted field values before it processes the administrator-defined markup and runs its shortcodes. If any referenced field is empty, the whole Shortcode block is omitted.
Use Static Code instead when the same shortcode or embed should appear on every listing and does not need an active listing field.
