Upload video and audio to listings
A custom File Upload field can store a video or audio file for each listing. A Shortcode block can then render the uploaded URL in the browser’s native media player.
Create the upload field
Section titled “Create the upload field”- Go to Listing Types, edit the type, and open Fields.
- Under Add Custom Field, add File Upload and give it a clear label and stable key such as
listing-videoorlisting-audio. - Under Allowed file types, select only the video or audio MIME types you intend to accept.
- Leave Allow multiple files? disabled. The player examples below expect one URL.
- Set Maximum upload file size (KB) and the field visibility, then update the type. If multiple files are enabled for another use case, also set Minimum number of uploads required, Maximum number of uploads allowed, and any package-based file limits.
The available choices come from the file types allowed by WordPress. Your web server, PHP upload limit, WordPress permissions, and the visitor’s browser must also support the selected format.
Display an uploaded video
Section titled “Display an uploaded video”Open Single Page → Content & Tabs, choose a tab, and add the Shortcode block. Enter:
<video controls preload="metadata" style="width: 100%; height: auto;"> <source src="[[listing-video]]"> Your browser does not support embedded video.</video>Replace listing-video with the field key you created, or type @ in the block and select the field.
Display uploaded audio
Section titled “Display uploaded audio”Use a separate single-file field with the required audio MIME types, then add another Shortcode block:
<audio controls preload="metadata" style="width: 100%;"> <source src="[[listing-audio]]"> Your browser does not support embedded audio.</audio>Only allow formats you have tested on your target browsers, and consider storage and bandwidth before enabling large uploads. See Add dynamic shortcodes to listings for how field placeholders work.
