Create the Add Listing page
The Add Listing page lets eligible users choose a listing type, select a package when paid listings are enabled, and submit or edit a listing from the front end.
Build the page
Section titled “Build the page”- Go to Pages → Add New Page, give the page a name such as “Add Listing,” and publish it.
- Select Edit with Elementor.
- Add the MyListing → Add Listing Form widget.
- Under Listing type selection step, add each non-global listing type that users may submit. You can set a color for each type card.
- Choose the Card Size—Small, Regular, or Large—and whether to Enable form section animations. Regular size and animations are the defaults.
- Under Package selection step, choose Show 3 packages per row or Show 4 packages per row. Three per row is the default.
- Open Page Settings → Page Layout and use Theme or Elementor Full Width, not Elementor Canvas.
- Update the page.
- Go to Theme Tools → Theme Options → Explore and set Default ‘Add a Listing’ page to the page you created.
The default-page setting is used by MyListing links and by flows such as adding, relisting, switching a package, and duplicating a listing. If the site does not allow frontend listing submissions, this page is not required.
How the steps behave
Section titled “How the steps behave”- With multiple listing types, the page first displays the type-selection cards.
- With exactly one listing type, MyListing skips the type-selection screen and opens that type’s submission flow directly.
- Once a listing type has been selected, the regular Elementor page content is hidden and the submission step is moved outside the page-content container. Extra Elementor content therefore appears only on the initial type-selection screen.
- The package step appears only when packages are enabled for the selected listing type. The widget’s Package layout setting has no effect when there is no package-selection step.
- When an existing listing is opened for editing, MyListing restores that listing’s type and listing ID rather than showing the normal type-selection cards.
Do not add a listing type marked Global listing type. MyListing’s listing-type editor explicitly limits global types to the Explore page because they search across other types rather than define a submission form.
Check user permissions
Section titled “Check user permissions”Go to Theme Tools → User Roles. On the Accounts & Roles screen, verify Can add listings for every role that should submit from the front end. A signed-in user without that capability sees a message instead of the form. If alternate account types are enabled, MyListing can prompt a user to switch to an eligible role.
Paid-submission flows require an account, including a zero-cost package handled by the paid-listings integration. The logged-out experience also depends on the site’s registration and account settings, so test the finished page while logged out and with each relevant user role. Submit one listing of every type to verify its fields, validation, package rules, preview, and completion step.
