Create the Explore page

The Explore page combines listing-type search forms, results, preview cards, taxonomy tabs, and an optional map in one interactive Elementor widget.

  1. Go to Pages → Add New Page, name the page “Explore,” and publish it.
  2. Select Edit with Elementor.
  3. Place the MyListing → Explore Listings widget in the page.
  4. Add the listing types visitors should be able to search and arrange them in the required order.
  5. For the standard edge-to-edge layout, open Page Settings → Page Layout, choose Elementor Full Width, and remove unnecessary container gap and padding. Full Width retains the theme header and footer; Elementor Canvas does not.
  6. Choose a template and configure the results, listing-type selector, and map options described below.
  7. Update the page.
  8. Go to Theme Tools → Theme Options → Explore and select it as the Default Explore Listings page.

The same Theme Options tab also sets the global Listings per page value used by Explore searches. Its default is 9.

The widget provides four layouts. Template 1 and Template 2 include a map; Template 3 and Template 4 do not. Depending on the selected template, you can configure:

  • the page title and subtitle;
  • the default mobile view—results or map;
  • one, two, or three result columns where supported—Template 2 limits the rendered result to two columns even if three is saved;
  • numbered pages or a Load more button;
  • infinite scrolling when Load more is selected;
  • automatic scrolling to results in Template 2;
  • isotope masonry, which can be disabled to reduce layout work;
  • live URL updates as filters change;
  • Trigger search on map drag, enabled by default, which affects map templates and requires both Location and Proximity filters in the listing type;
  • listing types displayed in a navbar or dropdown.

The initial title is “What are you looking for?” and the subtitle is empty. Other defaults are Template 1, Results as the mobile view, one result column, numbered Pages, isotope masonry enabled, live URL updates enabled, and listing types displayed in a navbar. Infinite scrolling and Template 2’s automatic scroll are off until enabled. Add at least one valid listing type or the Explore interface has no search configuration. If you use a global listing type, keep it on Explore—MyListing does not support global types on Add Listing or other page widgets.

Use Default filter values when the page should open with a predefined search. Configure the public Explore page until its URL contains the filters you want, then paste that URL into the field.

The query parameters in a visitor’s current URL take precedence over these saved defaults. This lets a link select a different type, term, order, page, or filter without changing the widget. With no valid type parameter, MyListing starts with the first listing type in the widget.

First load method controls how initial results are delivered:

  • Server-side (SEO friendly) includes the first result set in the page HTML.
  • Client-side (AJAX only) waits for JavaScript to request the results.

Server-side is the default. Use Client-side when you intentionally want to defer the initial results query until JavaScript runs. If the server-side request returns a WordPress error, MyListing falls back to client-side loading for that request.

For Templates 1 and 2, you can select Map Skin, enable Zoom map using mouse scroll? and Enable map type control?, and set the default, minimum, and maximum zoom levels. Mouse-wheel zoom and the map-type control are off by default. The default coordinates are latitude 51.492 and longitude -0.130; the default zoom is 11, with minimum 2 and maximum 18. Default latitude and Default longitude are used when there are no markers to frame; they do not override a result set that already has listing locations.

The location-radius circle has independent fill and border colors and opacity. Both colors default to #B7BABE; fill opacity defaults to 0.1 and border opacity to 0.3. Under Categories/Taxonomies Tab, Item Count defaults to 10; leave it blank to show all available terms. The same section controls the overlay used on term cards.

Display Ads is off by default. Enable it to insert Google Ads at the chosen Ad Interval when a valid Publisher ID and Slot ID are supplied.

You may create additional Explore pages with different listing types or defaults. The page selected under Theme Options remains the main destination used by MyListing links, term views, and search forms that do not specify another target.
