Getting started with Elementor
MyListing uses Elementor for regular page layouts and adds directory-specific widgets and page-level header and footer controls.
Elementor and WooCommerce are required MyListing plugins and are normally installed during theme setup. Every MyListing widget and the MyListing controls in Elementor Page Settings work with the free version of Elementor. Elementor Pro is required only when you use Pro functionality, such as Theme Builder templates.
Create or edit a page
Section titled “Create or edit a page”- Go to Pages → Add New Page, enter a title, and save the draft.
- Select Edit with Elementor.
- Open the widget panel and find the MyListing category. MyListing promotes this group near the top of the panel.
- Drag a widget into a container, configure it in the panel, and select Publish or Update.
- Use Elementor’s responsive preview to check desktop, tablet, and mobile layouts.
Elementor’s current interface is organized around the top bar, settings panel, and page canvas. Its official editor overview covers the general editing workflow.
Supported MyListing widgets
Section titled “Supported MyListing widgets”The current theme registers these widgets in Elementor’s MyListing category:
- MyListing → Add Listing Form
- MyListing → Basic Search Form
- MyListing → Blog Feed
- MyListing → Breadcrumbs
- MyListing → Clients Slider
- MyListing → Countdown Block
- MyListing → Explore Listings
- MyListing → Listing Feed
- MyListing → Listing Terms
- MyListing → Map
- MyListing → Package Selection
- MyListing → Testimonials
Listing Terms is the current name of the former Listing Categories widget; its internal Elementor widget ID is unchanged, so existing instances continue to use the same widget. MyListing → Breadcrumbs is the current name of the former Title Bar widget. The separate old Page Heading widget is no longer registered.
MyListing 2.11 removed 27 Accordions, Tabs, Gallery, Team, Video Block, Table Block, Content Block, Image, Featured Service, Info Cards, Section Heading, and Featured Section. Their names remain in the theme’s registration array, but their classes and section templates are absent, so they are not supported current widgets. See the legacy recovery guidance only when an old page depends on one.
MyListing page settings
Section titled “MyListing page settings”Select the Page Settings icon in Elementor’s top bar, then open MyListing’s Header or Footer section.
The Header section starts with Hide Header?, Blend header to the next section?, Show Title Bar?, and Customize Header?. Hide, blend, and customize are off by default; Show Title Bar? follows the global header setting. Title Bar and Customize controls are available only while the header is shown. Enabling Customize Header? exposes Height (Normal or Extended), Width (Full Width or Boxed), Boxed header width (px), Text Color (Light or Dark), Sticky header on scroll?, Background Color, Border Color, Show Search Form?, Main Menu Location (Left, Center, or Right), and Show Call to Action button?. Their initial values come from Theme Tools → Theme Options → Header.
The Footer section starts with Hide footer? and Customize Footer?, both off by default. Customize is available only while the footer is shown. Enabling it exposes Background Color, Show Widgets, Widgets per row desktop, Widgets per row tablet, Widgets per row mobile, and Show Footer Menu. Desktop and tablet accept one through five columns; mobile accepts one through three. Widgets and the footer menu are shown by default; the responsive column defaults inherit the global settings, whose defaults are three, two, and one. If Theme Tools → Theme Options → Footer → Show Footer? is off, a page-level setting cannot force the built-in footer back on.
These settings affect only MyListing’s built-in header and footer. See General header options and General footer options for the site-wide settings and other header-specific behavior.
Choose the page layout
Section titled “Choose the page layout”Elementor’s Page Settings → Page Layout choice determines which theme structure surrounds the page:
- Default uses the default selected under Elementor’s site settings. Theme explicitly uses MyListing’s normal page template.
- Elementor Full Width gives Elementor the full content area but still calls the theme header and footer. It is the appropriate choice when a page needs an edge-to-edge Elementor layout and MyListing’s surrounding site structure.
- Elementor Canvas is a standalone document without the theme header, footer, or
#c27-site-wrapper. MyListing’s Header and Footer page settings cannot restore those elements. Do not use Canvas for the Add Listing page because the submission flow moves itself into that theme wrapper after a type is selected.
MyListing also provides the WordPress templates Content + Sidebar, Sidebar + Content, Content + No Sidebar, and Content + Full Width Featured Image. They add theme-controlled content wrappers, titles, sidebars, or the blog-style featured-image layout, so they are not substitutes for Elementor Full Width on the Add Listing or Explore pages. The Full Width Featured Image template also uses MyListing’s Single Listing header settings.
Theme Builder and display conditions
Section titled “Theme Builder and display conditions”Go to Elementor → Theme Builder in wp-admin. Free Elementor can show the available site parts, but building and publishing Theme Builder site-part templates requires Elementor Pro. MyListing explicitly registers the Header and Footer locations. When a published Pro header or footer has display conditions matching the current page, it renders instead of MyListing’s built-in counterpart; the page’s MyListing Header or Footer settings do not modify the custom template. Use include and exclude conditions deliberately and avoid overlapping templates for the same location. See Elementor’s current Theme Builder overview and display-condition guide.
Elementor Pro can also build Single and Archive templates. A Single Page template applies only to pages using Elementor’s Default page layout, even when its display conditions otherwise match; it does not replace pages using Canvas, Full Width, or another WordPress template. When a Pro Single or Archive template matches, MyListing reads that template document’s Header settings while configuring the built-in header. Single listings, BuddyPress profile pages, and Content + Full Width Featured Image pages still use Theme Tools → Theme Options → Single Listing header settings.
MyListing also supports the Header & Footer Builder included with Ultimate Addons for Elementor, which works with free Elementor. If both builders match the same location, the Elementor Pro template takes priority. See Custom headers and footers with Elementor for both workflows and the Canvas exception.
Before publishing
Section titled “Before publishing”- Keep MyListing, Elementor, and WooCommerce active and up to date.
- Preview any directory widget with real listing types and terms; empty selections can make a widget appear blank.
- Use Theme or Elementor Full Width when the page needs MyListing’s header, footer, or site wrapper.
- If a saved design does not appear on the front end, go to Elementor → Editor → Tools → General → Elementor Cache, select Clear Files & Data, then clear any page, server, CDN, and browser caches.
