Add products to listings
A listing’s Store tab displays published WooCommerce products selected in a Product Multiselect field. The product must also belong to the WordPress user who owns the listing.
Add the product field and Store tab
Section titled “Add the product field and Store tab”- Go to Listings → Listing Types and edit the listing type.
- Open Fields.
- Add the Products preset, or choose Add a custom field → Relational → Product Multiselect.
- Expand the field. Under Allowed product types, select the WooCommerce product types that listing owners may choose. Leaving the selection empty does not apply a product-type filter.
- Open Single Page → Content & Tabs and add the Store tab.
- Under Display products from field, select the Product Multiselect field.
- Enable Hide tab if there are no products if an empty Store tab should not appear.
- Update the listing type, edit a listing, select products, and verify the published listing as a logged-out visitor.
Only signed-in users see the product selector in the listing form. On a new listing it searches products owned by the current user; on an existing listing it searches products owned by that listing’s recorded author. The selector returns published products, in title order, and applies the field’s allowed product types.
The Store tab checks the selected product IDs again when it loads. It renders only published products whose author matches the listing author, nine per page in a three-column grid. A product selected earlier therefore disappears from the tab if it becomes draft, pending, private, trashed, or is reassigned to another owner.
Limited built-in simple-product form
Section titled “Limited built-in simple-product form”MyListing includes an optional front-end form for basic Simple product submissions. It is useful for a small, administrator-reviewed catalog, but it is not a vendor dashboard and should not be treated as a replacement for a marketplace plugin.
- Go to Theme Tools → Theme Options → Shop page.
- Enable Enable Simple Products and save the options.
- Open the assigned My account page while signed in. My Products appears in the account navigation.
- Select Add a Product, complete the form, and submit it.
- As an administrator, go to Products → All Products, review the pending product, and publish it.
- The listing owner can now select the product in the listing’s Product Multiselect field.
New submissions require Product Name, Product Description, Product Excerpt, Price, and a Featured Image. Featured and gallery uploads accept JPEG, PNG, and WebP. The form also supports sale price and dates, SKU, categories, tags, shipping class, weight, dimensions, stock management, backorders, stock status, and the Virtual? option.
Important behavior:
- The front-end editor creates only WooCommerce Simple products. It does not create Variable, Grouped, External/Affiliate, or downloadable-product files.
- Every new submission is saved as Pending review. Editing an owner’s published product also sends it back to pending status until an administrator publishes it again.
- A user can edit only their own published or pending products. The dashboard has no front-end delete action.
- Enable Simple Products applies to signed-in members generally; it is not controlled by the account type’s Can add listings permission. Disable it if every account should not have a product-submission route.
- Enabling the editor does not configure payments, taxes, shipping, refunds, order fulfilment, commissions, or payouts. Those remain store or marketplace responsibilities.
Use a vendor plugin for marketplace workflows
Section titled “Use a vendor plugin for marketplace workflows”For a marketplace where listing owners actively sell and manage products, use a WooCommerce-compatible vendor extension. The built-in form covers only basic Simple product submission and review; it does not provide variable products, vendor storefronts, vendor order views, fulfilment tools, commissions, withdrawals, payouts, or granular vendor permissions.
A vendor plugin is not technically required to submit the limited Simple product fields listed above, but it remains the recommended setup for any production multivendor workflow.
The theme contains a specific WC Vendors Pro dashboard fallback when that plugin is active and [wcv_pro_dashboard] is present on the My account page. Treat that as a template compatibility path, not a guarantee for every WC Vendors Pro feature or for other multivendor plugins. On a staging site, verify that the plugin preserves product post_author, because the Store tab requires the product and listing to have the same owner.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- The Products field is missing: confirm WooCommerce is active, then use the Product Multiselect field under the Relational group.
- No products appear in the selector: sign in as the listing owner; confirm the products are published, owned by that same user, and use a product type allowed by the field.
- A selected product is absent from the Store tab: check its publication status and author. The front-end editor’s pending products do not display publicly.
- My Products returns 404: save Settings → Permalinks once, then clear caches.
- My Products is missing: confirm Theme Tools → Theme Options → Shop page → Enable Simple Products remains enabled and WooCommerce is active.
- The Store tab is empty but visible: enable Hide tab if there are no products in the Store tab settings.
